Well mediatek have made his part in the smartphone world but still people willing to buy cheap mediatek powered smartphone are not buying all because we are stuck on Android 4.2.2 JellyBean while all others are moving to KitKat.Yes it's a hell of pain as i personlly own a mediatek powered smartphone and ask me i was thinking to sell it but According to the new reports Taiwanese fabrication giant mediatek has listened their users and is working on Andorid KitKat 4.4 not open source but atleast for the KitKat.
Smartphones based on quad-core Soc's including the MT6589 and the MT6582 along with the newer, octa-core MT6592 among other versions are in line for a KitKat upgrade, which would come later this month.
This is not yet assured, but finger crossed for light of hope that we will get the KitKat for our devices.For the record if they did that it will definitely boost their sale.Stay tuned with us and we will keep you updated..
